Greetings!

These are exciting times for the museum with all kinds of positive change as we roll out our 2011 operational plan. We are making great progress behind the scenes in collections management, organizational development and fundraising.

Our school programs continue to be highly popular and reviews of our new exhibitions are wonderfully positive - if you haven't already, be sure to catch "I am Vancouver" presented with the generous support of the TK Foundation. This has been a great start, but there is a long way to go--you can follow our progress on Facebook and Twitter!

The new online version of Above Board is another great way to keep in touch and I hope you enjoy finding out what is going on at your museum-please forward to a friend!

Sincerely,

Simon Robinson

An Evening at the Museum - The Best Seats in the House

Celebration of LightPlease join us on Saturday, August 6th, 2011 at the Vancouver Maritime Museum for " An Evening At The Museum - The Best Seats in the House". From the terrace of the museum, enjoy dinner, a silent auction and, of course, the best seats in the house for the final night of the Celebration of Light.

With a mandate to preserve, educate and inspire the region's rich maritime heritage, the museum provides this vital and important link to both citizens of and visitors to Vancouver. Our goal this year is to raise over $20,000 to support the exhibits and programs at the museum.

We need your help.
