Sense of Family Financial Obligation Among Americans Is Strong, But Not Unlimited,

According To New Metlife Study

Jan. 10, 2012

Americans' sense of financial obligation to family members is strong and born out of love and generosity, but does have limits, according to a new study by the MetLife Mature Market Institute. ... Most Americans also believe that children have some obligation to help their aging parents financially if necessary, though many parents (42%) say they wouldn't accept money from their children.

Worker Safety for the APS Supervisor

Wednesday, March 21, 2012

2:00pm ET | 1:00pm CT | 12:00pm MT | 11:00am PT

https://aoa-events.webex.com/aoa-events/onstage/g.php?d=661258268&t=a

APS supervisors have a responsibility to keep their workers safe which can seem a nearly impossible task given that we send workers out alone to face volatile, domestic violence situations; to work in rough inner city neighborhoods or in isolated rural areas without cell phone coverage; and to interface with individuals with a variety of emotional and cognitive impairments.

During this webinar, you will learn how your workers can deescalate situations occurring in their professional life.  You will learn the four A's of Safety and how to help your workers to learn a structure of interpersonal safety awareness.  You will also gain an awareness of best practices in organization safety and safety supervision.

 PRESENTER: Dan Elliot

Dan Elliot is the Assistant Director of IMPACT Safety, a program of LifeCare Alliance, in Columbus, Ohio. Dan holds a BA in Psychology from the Ohio State University. He develops curriculum and teaches violence prevention and personal safety and boundary setting skills to men, women, teens, and children of all ages and abilities. Dan also develops curriculum and teaches personal safety to workers in high risk professions such as social work, nursing, home care services, and property management.
