eBay
Project Mercury - Phoenix, AZ
Jeremy Gilbertson, Dan Fanning, Don Kinser, and Beth Bandi attended the grand opening for eBay's Project Mercury Data Center in Phoenix, AZ. The event was attended by select data center owners, operators and members of the Data Center Pulse community. The crowd was extremely excited to take a detailed look into Project Mercury and the final product. Dean Nelson, Mike Lewis, and the entire eBay team presented the project from inception to operation, and they led an extremely insightful closed door discussion with their peers in the industry. The second day of the Grand Opening featured displays by the project teams and an in-depth presentation. The design team, led by EDI, supported the break-out sessions with the Data Center Pulse attendees. EDI's Data Center Practice is excited to continue our work with eBay on new projects associated with Project Mercury, as well as Project Quicksilver.

EDI Welcomes Two New Associates
EDI welcomes Jeremy Gilbertson - CTS, RCDD, as Vice President and head of EDI's Data Center Practice. Jeremy's skills involve helping enterprise, third-party provider, healthcare, and higher-education clients understand the current state of their data centers and map out phased strategies to address business requirements, risk profile, and budget. Prior to joining EDI, Jeremy served in a technology-advisor role for multiple national firms and has designed data center infrastructure, structured cabling, physical security systems, and audio-visual systems.
Jeremy currently serves on the board of directors for AFCOM Atlanta and is a frequent speaker at industry associations like CoreNet Global, 7x24, and others. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three kids, and has written and produced music for ESPN, CBS, and various independent films. Jeremy's band, Grim Rooster, can be seen playing venues around Metro Atlanta.

Welcome back, Paul Remke - again! Paul originally began work with EDI in 1992 as a co-op student working on commercial and healthcare projects. Upon graduation from Georgia Tech, he worked in the building automation and controls industry, until returning back to EDI shortly thereafter. His interests and skills eventually led him to work for an MEP firm in Florida, where he eventually headed up their technology design group.
Twelve years later, Paul has returned to EDI with a fresh head of ideas and experiences. Paul has over 16 years of experience in communication networking design and construction administration for numerous municipal, educational, healthcare, military, and commercial projects.
