2012 Year of the Dragon
On Monday, the Kindergarten class celebrated a "2-hour delayed" Chinese New Year. The students wrote their names using Chinese characters, made Chinese lanterns and watched Ancient China on BrainPop Jr.. They also discussed the animals on the Chinese zodiac, completed a China geography lesson, ate with chopsticks at lunch, listened to The 5 Chinese Brothers with our friends in Pre-K, looked at photos from Mrs. Felton's trip to Shanghai to visit her son, and discussed Chinese New Year traditions! They especially loved their stuffed dragons and red, lucky money envelopes!
