Parking & Drop Off Zone Reminder To Parents

Please be sure to keep the area in front of the mailbox and main building steps clear. Please do not park or idle in front of these areas.

For your convenience, you do not need to leave your car when dropping your child off. Do not get out of your car. This completely disrupts the flow of traffic. If you prefer to walk your child in to the buildings please park in designated parking areas not in the carpool drop off area. Thank you.

Once you drop your child off, please stay in the carpool lane, pull forward along the yellow striping and yield to the thru traffic before making a U-turn to exit.

Class Spotlight
Olympic Park Institute Experience For 5th Grade

Water Testing @ OPI

GHA's Fifth grade class spent three days at Olympic Park Institute, just outside of Port Angeles, learning and exploring science through outdoor experiences.

OPI Waterfall

During their adventure, the fifth graders learned about forest ecology and experienced the natural interconnections in an ecosystem.  Students also had the chance to learn about geology, and watershed science through many hands-on experiments.

Walking on a log

The weather cooperated for the most part, but it did snow! Mr. Funk and the fifth grade students went canoeing on a seemingly dry and sunny day, but the weather quickly turned and it began to snow. Luckily they made it back to shore with no problems

Kindergarten "Grows" Knowledge

K Seed Count_RJ

GHA Kindergarten students are learning about seeds, plants and flowers this week! Their seed sort activity helped the young botanists learn about seed identification but also helped them practice their science and math skills.

Seed Count Activity

First, students had to predict how many seeds they had in all, then they identified and sorted their seeds into categories, after that they counted each group of seeds and then totaled them.

There were many methods used to count the seeds, some Kindergarten students even tried to use addition!

K Seed Count_TB

After all the seeds were counted, students graphed their results and figured out how many seeds it took to balance a teddy bear on a scale.
