Theater Project Alumni Week - August 6 - 12

The Theater Project is celebrating its 40th Anniversary Season with a first ever Alumni Week. All alumni are invited to visit the theater at anytime during the week to say hi and look around. Evening events include:

• 8/8 at 7:30 pm - Concert by alumni Cameron Toy
• 8/9 at 7:30 pm - Concert by alumni Ian Paige
• 8/10 at 7:30 pm - Alumni Party and Rehearsal! Play theater games and put together a show to perform on Saturday
• 8/11 at 11 am - Rat and Roach Book Reading and Signing by alumni David Covell

Trace Bundy - August 8

Friday at 8 pm, the Frontier will host, The Acoustic Ninja, Trace Bundy who sells out shows across 21 countries with his rare combination of his jaw droppingly difficult arrangements of expert capo and finger picking techniques. Celebratory Cookout at Goodwin Chevrolet Mazda - August 9, 10, 11 & 13

Shakespeare's Macbeth on the Quad - August 9

Thursday at 6 pm, Bowdoin College will host a production of Shakespeare's Macbeth on the Quad in front of the Museum. Attendees are encouraged to bring along a lawn chair and/or blanket for seating on the Quad for this 70-minute show. Food Preservation Class at Shift - August 14

Tuesday at 6 pm, Shift at 56 Maine Street, will host a class for those who want to learn how to preserve garden vegetables. Taught by UMaine Cooperative Extension staff, you will learn the basic steps for canning and freezing. Attendees will receive fact sheets and recipes, and will learn recommended methods for preserving foods, the latest and safest recipes, about equipment to insure safety and how to check for properly sealed jars. The DaPonte String Quartet Performance - August 14

Blackbeard the Pirate - August 18

Saturday, at 3 pm or 5:30 pm at Crooker Theater, Brunswick High School. 10 x 10 Benefit Art Exhibit & Sale - September 28

The watercolor Pisa, A Different View by Maine artist Tim Banks has been chosen to represent the fifth annual 10 X 10 Benefit Art Exhibit & Sale. This painting is among 325 works that will be on exhibit and for sale at the event Friday, 5-8 pm at the Curtis Memorial Library and St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Pleasant Street. Mid Coast Hospital has launched the new Mid Coast Center for Diabetes & Endocrinology to provide medical care and education for adults living with diabetes. The Center, at 81 Medical Center Drive, Suite 2200 in Brunswick, focuses on empowering individuals to take an active role in managing their disease. Staffed by a team of board-certified physician endocrinologists, a nurse practitioner, and certified diabetes and nutrition educators, the Mid Coast Center for Diabetes & Endocrinology offers a full range of services to manage and treat Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, as well as other glandular disorders. The Center also provides education and treatment for pregnant women diagnosed with gestational diabetes. Appointments are made through a referral from a doctor. CHANS Home Health Care is offering FREE Hospice Volunteer training classes beginning September 6. The training classes will run for 10 consecutive weeks on Thursdays from 4 - 7 pm in the conference room at the Hospice Building at 45 Baribeau Drive. This free training prepares individuals to deal compassionately and sensitively with end-of-life issues in a volunteer capacity.
