Greetings!
| Extra, Extra, read all about it! We were dancing in the halls when we learned that THIS NEWSLETTER was featured in the Wall Street Journal last week! We were one of many financial planning firms interviewed for the article and we were pleasantly surprised to find out that ours was one of only four newsletters to be profiled. While you can no longer get the print version, you can link to the email version here. |
Fund Find(s) of the Month:
This fund ages like a fine wine | What were YOU doing in 1935? Me neither. My mother wasn't even around, come to think of it. America was in the throes of the Great Depression and Hitler was ravaging Europe. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was a whopping 140. As I type this article, the Dow is just shy of 11,200, a gain of 8,000%. Is it possible that a fund birthed in 1935 is still kicking the bleep of today's "cutting-edge" funds? (Much of this article is reprinted with the permission of fund detective extraordinaire David Snowball.) read more...

Tip of the Month:
Make sure your Social Security information is error-free
|
Remember that four-page report that you get each year from Social Security? I'm not a big fan of keeping excess papers lying around but if you still have your copy from 2010, you might want to hang onto it.

(Almost) Famous Recipes of the Month: Sweet and Saucy
| Puddin' and Sash may look plain but it's been tasty enough to serve for at least 100 years in my family. The name and combination come from my great-grandmother, Mama Phoodups; "Sash" is sauce. Not sure about the "Puddin" part, but the name has a very comforting ring to it, so Puddin' and Sash it will always be. You can brighten up the dessert plates with a few raspberries and mint leaves if you're having company, but such radical changes would be eyed with suspicion by my family.
For the chocoholics in your crowd, you can also serve this easy-to-make Chocolate Fudge Sauce. I always make both of these sauces in the microwave. (If I didn't have a microwave for any other purpose, it would be worth it to make sauce-based dishes.) read more... Top of page |
You had us at "READ MORE", Josh. Last month, client Josh V. was our first Amazon.com gift certificate giveaway winner. Josh found a bad link at "read more..." for our veggie recipes. But who's counting... getting Nick Murray when all Josh wanted was vegetarian spaghetti earned him a cool $50. Who would have thought there was a link between vegetables and market volatility??? Our offer still stands, now at $25. Find a bad link, win a gift certificate to Amazon!
Our website is live and we hope you find it as special as we do! Next month, we begin monthly contests to reward some lucky reader who's paying attention to the details on our website and in our newsletter. As always, we'll have super-cool prizes that you won't want to miss and you'll have a much better chance of winning here than you will...say...the Lotto. Prizes almost as good, too, so be ready for fun and excitement!
Are you without-a-doubt-sure that you and your spouse will be prepared for 30 years of retirement? Put another way, will your
retirement be a life of Fantasy Island - or is the only island you'll ever see the one in your kitchen? If you want to be absolutely sure you're going in the right direction, Milestones has the tools to get you there. No matter how old you are, it's not too late to make a difference - give us a call!
Best wishes and God bless,
