Greetings!
hot wheels t-bird
First, I have an apology to get off my shoulders. Last month, in an effort to highlight a really cool client couple (who just happen to be senior citizens), I hurt the feelings of Jim Armbruster by referring to his beloved T-Bird as a Mustang. Upon seeing my column, Jim promptly informed his dear wife, Margie, that his T-Bird could outrun a Mustang any day of the year, and she duly notified me of the distinction. Jim, I'm sorry and, to prove it, I've gone back to my failproof method of identifying cars - by color. At least I know a black car when I see one!

TIP of the Month: What's the Best Way to Save for College?
Dear Johanna: We have a new grandson and we would like to begin helping his parents save for his college education. But there are so many confusing choices and we want to start off on the right foot. Can you help us make a decision - in plain English, please? Signed, Proud Mimi and Pappy

Almost-Famous Recipe of the Month:
"Even-If-You-Don't-Like" Cranberries Casserole
Cranberries in cupOk, that's not the real name - it's Cranberry Apple Casserole. But I have to admit that a lot of folks have found out that they can eat cranberries - and love them - after sampling this casserole. And I can be pretty persuasive when it comes to "encouraging" those at our Thanksgiving table to give my dishes a try. This recipe came from the late Joyce Fox, my boys' "Granny". Granny was known for her culinary creations, especially the spin she put on common ingredients, and I treasure the recipes she shared with me through the years. This is a "must-have" at Thanksgiving each year - try it and do your cranberry-hating family a favor! Recipe
Each month, I approach the writing of this newsletter with a mixture of excitement and anxiety. I'm excited about the chance to educate others on my passion - helping people improve their lives. When our clients take control of the choices they make with their dollars, their success leads to other victories - in marriage, as parents, spiritually, etc. At the same time, I'm anxious as I sort through many themes that can help readers live better lives - so much to write about, so little time! As we enter this season of thanks, it is my prayer that you will find some words in this newsletter that will impact you in a special way.

Sincerely,
