Making It Better (MIB), an organization committed to excellence with a clear vision and passion for delivering outstanding results. Founded in 2006 by Jerry Davis, a former Westside High School Dean of Students and head lacrosse coach, the mission of MIB is to improve the quality of life for low-income, at-risk children by offering academic intervention, positive activities and role models. Addressing the severe disadvantages faced by at-risk children in the Houston area, MIB offers a variety of programs that are tailored to meet the needs of each campus. Whether the program is academic or enrichment, delivered during or after school, on a school campus or in an apartment-based program; MIB's goals are always the same . . . developing relationships and improving self-esteem by sparking creativity, fostering the desire to succeed, developing social skills, and expanding life experiences.
