ResumeStudents gaining valuable experience this summer 

 

The job market may be tough, but it's not impossible.  Across the nation and in other countries, students are honing their skills.

 

Kari Hockett is a summer associate at Herrick, Feinstein in New York. She is one of four summer associates and the only one from outside of New York. Kari has drafted agreements, researched litigation strategies, written internal memos, attended client meetings, sat in on court arguments and conducted due diligence for clients. Kari will be a 3L in the fall.

 

Zainab Hussain is interning in the arbitration department at the Dubai, UAE office of Al Tamini; the largest law firm in the Middle East. Hussain has been working on projects focused on enforcement of foreign arbitration awards in light of different Bilateral Investment Treaties (BITs) and international conventions such as the New York Convention and the Riyadh Convention.  Zainab will be a 2L in the fall.

 

This summer, Shamim Mohandessi is interning at Symetra Financial, headquartered in Bellevue, WA. He spends time looking at and revising corporate contracts, working to ensure compliance with the Securities and Exchange Commission regulations and researching and making recommendations regarding corporate governance issues. Shamim will be a 2L this fall.
