 Immigration Forum, March 27th         

 Join us for a National Issues Forum on the U.S. immigration system. Students, members of the Suffolk community and the general public are invited to participate in a "democratic dialogue" moderated by Associate Professor Allan Tow. Participants will weigh the pros and cons of three policy options to find a shared understanding of the immigration issue and common ground for action, with an emphasis on getting past partisan rhetoric. Queer Speaker Series: SpeakOUT Boston         
Queer Speakers Series image

 

SpeakOUT Boston, the nation's first LGBT speakers  bureau, will lead a panel discussion about facing prejudice and discrimination; coming out; raising a family; taking pride in sexual and gender identity; and increasing awareness of LGBT issues.

El Salvador 20 Years after the Peace Accords: U.S. and Salvadoran Perspectives 

El Salvador

 

In recognition of the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Salvadoran Peace Accords, the Washington Office on Latin America and Suffolk University's Moakley Archive and Institute have convened a panel of experts to discuss the legacy of this historic moment and assess progress and challenges in El Salvador today. 

 

Panelists include:

The Honorable James P. McGovern, U. S. House of Representatives (D-MA)

Patricia Montes, Executive Director of Centro Presente

Geoff Thale (moderator), Program Director, WOLA (Washington Office on Latin America)
