Events Around Town
Wow, is May ever a busy month! There is so much going on it's hard to know where to start. We are in the midst of the May Cultural Festival. All month we are being treated to free events, concerts on the Malecon, orchestras, choirs, folkloric ballet, and a food and wine tasting. The festivities culminate in a grand celebration for Puerto Vallarta's anniversary on May 31st - with fireworks, of course!
Restaurant Week is also in full swing. This is the 6th year for this very popular event. From mid-month until the end of May, more than 35 of Vallarta's best restaurants are serving up spectacular 3-course dinners of appetizer, choice of entrée and dessert at fixed prices of $189 or $299 pesos ($15-25 USD). This is a great deal and opportunity to sample fare from a wealth of Vallarta's best restaurants. Teatro Vallarta recently opened downtown. This beautiful theater has 900 seats and offers valet parking. The dance performance Fandango is currently on and we hear that locals get a discount. |
Owner's Property Video
One day not too long ago, it came to our attention that one of our first residents had proudly made some home videos to post on YouTube, to be able to show his friends his new home at Rivera Cuale in Puerto Vallarta.
We asked his permission to post the links in our Newsletter, so that you can see the videos too. Here you will get an inside look at his condo, as well as the grounds and amenities!

Greetings!
May is a beautiful time in Vallarta. It is the month of fiestas and the atmosphere in town is fun and festive! The weather continues to be spectacularly sunny and warm, with fresh breezes and blue skies. Although we are nearing the end of the dry season, from Rivera Cuale we see the river still flowing by, water clear and cool. |
Proudly Presenting the Rivera Cuale Owners: Part Two
If you are new to the Rivera Cuale newsletter and missed Part One of the owner introductions, click here.
Although some of our owners have not yet had the opportunity to contribute their piece, we think you get the idea: the common theme is that they appreciate the architecture, attention to detail and quality of the homes.
They love Rivera Cuale's location in an authentic Mexican neighborhood, surrounded by nature on the riverfront, and its proximity to all the action of town! Our environmentally-friendly philosophy and green features go a long way too! |

River Clean-up Review
On Sunday, April 18th, Rivera Cuale celebrated Earth Day early with a massive clean-up of the Cuale River, thanks to the joint efforts of PEACE and the community.
On a perfect, sunny morning, volunteers started rolling in to the grounds of Rivera Cuale, where they chatted with friends as they received their specially-made logoed T-shirts, garbage bags and rubber gloves. Over a 30-minute period, the volunteers just kept coming in, until there were 89 in total! Many were teens from the local American and British American Schools, their teachers, volunteers from PEACE and from the community in general, and about 30 kids and moms from the El Caloso neighborhood. Some of the volunteers came in all the way from Punta de Mita!
A couple of guides from Vallarta Adventures came out to help clean up and educate the kids on garbage separation. They brought one of the big yellow trucks they use for tours to gather up the dozens upon dozens of full garbage bags afterwards. A team from PV Pulse also arrived on scene to help, and Rivera Cuale staff assisted with the clean-up and to keep things running smoothly.
Once the many clean-up groups were formed, they all set off to clean along and in the river within the surrounding area. After about an hour and a half, the volunteers returned to Rivera Cuale, where they enjoyed a picnic-style lunch on the grounds around the gardens, just relaxing and soaking up the sun and the good feeling of camaraderie. Rivera Cuale, PEACE and a few of the volunteers prepared food for the lunch, and a giant THANK YOU goes out to Uncommon Grounds Chill Out Lounge, Los Arbolitos Restaurant and Red Cabbage Cafe for their generous contributions toward the lunch.
Of noteworthy mention is a special project that many of the kids worked on throughout the lunch. One of the event organizers from PEACE had thoughtfully brought along canvases and paints with her, and the kids sat in circles on the grass all working together on large banners, painting words and images encouraging environmental awareness and care. The banners were later added to by kids attending a PEACE Earth Week event in Bucerias, and then finally by kids in Punta de Mita where the banners are being hung in the PEACE community center. Also, to recognize the kids who came out to the river clean-up, PEACE awarded them all participation certificates!
The event was a great success, and the joint effort banding together communities from different neighborhoods across two states was tremendous and heart-warming. Thank you to each and every one of the volunteers who donated their time and energy to make it happen.
