Dear Friends,

Our new park.
| It seems it has been Christmas for the last six months at our building. Every time I walk into the studio, the metamorphosis outside the window comes streaming in, just knocking my socks off. From piles of cement to backhoes, to spray-on grass and now kids skating in the "tube," watching the creation of the park has been like a painting in the making, framed by the aluminum windows inside the Taj. And to my surprise, it now feels like it has always been there.
The park will officially open sometime in December, just like a big ol' Christmas present.
See below for December classes and link to the holiday schedule, including my annual Goodbye 2011 workshop, scheduled for Saturday December 31.
From all of the teachers at Taj Yoga, have a safe and happy holiday season!

Viniyoga is a wonderfully therapeutic and individualized style of yoga designed to fit the particular situation of each practitioner. It is an ancient practice passed down to us through the teachings of Sri T. Krishnamacharya, with the emphasis on function rather than form. We meet the students where they are and progress in a direction that is most appropriate for their needs.
I came to Viniyoga ten years ago after having disc herniation surgery, and a total hip replacement before that in 1995. At first I was nervous that I might re-injure my back. However, I found the attention to the breath, the repetition of movement to prepare for held postures, and the specific sequencing of postures to be physically supportive, mindful and calming. I felt more confident in my movement, stronger and more flexible.
I have benefited greatly from this yoga. I've heard in India that those who learn about yoga but do not share are considered thieves, so I decided to learn to teach it! I invite everyone, from beginners to advanced practitioners, to come to Viniyoga on Thursday nights and practice a yoga style that is designed to meet your needs, wherever you are in life.
