Dear Friends,
Thank you all who volunteered for the King County Matching Funds Grant. We were successful in getting the requisite volunteer hours

| and Catherine Weatbrook will be contacting you in the near future with details. Many small jobs around the building count, so keep in mind the Crown Hill Fall Arts Festival November 5 -- we always need help for the festivities and those hours also count toward fulfilling the grant to fix our roof!
Bon Voyage to Laura DeFreitas as she makes her way to South Lake Tahoe and a new life. We'll miss her spunk and charm, as well as the rock salt lamp that is now gone from the studio. We wish her all the best in the next chapter in her life and trust she will take the spirit of the studio mascots, Gumby and Pokey, along to her new home studio.
As with any "change of the guard," no doubt some of you feel a little lost. What do you do when your beloved teacher leaves? Frankly, I don't like it when these "opportunities" get thrust upon me. I like it even less when someone tells me it's an "opportunity." However, I find I do well if I take the change in that spirit . . . and go exploring.
Numerous classes have new teachers (see Ongoing Schedule Changes below) and there are the other tried and true teachers of Taj yoga who would welcome you into their classes.
Please feel free to drop me a line if you would like a recommendation.
Sincerely,
Theresa Elliott Director, Taj Yoga Co-Director, Pacific Yoga Teacher Training

Work Begins on our Backyard Park!
Preliminary work has begun on the future Crown Hill Park! Seattle Public Utilities has begun to install the water service for our new park. Earlier this month, workers made a street cut and excavation on 14th Avenue NW near the south end of the Crown Hill Center. Pipes, gaskets, and flanges were then handed down into the hole by SPU workers as onlookers (and their dogs) exchanged greetings, and arranged for a dog adoption (of a really cute 15 week old puppy). Thanks to Catherine Weatbrook for the photograph. Check out the Crown Hll News Blog for updates on this and other neighborhood news.
