Dear Friends,
Groupon R not us. I have long felt the emphasis with this kind of discount system is in the wrong place. Why reward people who have never been to the Taj by giving them steep discounts on classes? What about our loyal, long-term students who pay full fare and have for years? These coupons may work for products, but not for services where the quality of interaction between student and teacher is key.
In that spirit, we're happy to introduce the Taj Yoga Mileage Plan! This is our way of saying thanks to those of you who keep coming back for more. We are so darn happy to see you class after class. The Mileage Plan applies to full-priced ongoing classes. Attend 20 classes and get one free. That's after one 20-class pass, two 10-class passes, or four 5-class passes. This discount does not apply to series or ongoing classes that are already discounted.
Talk to your favorite teacher for details, and thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Theresa Elliott Director, Taj Yoga Co-Director, Pacific Yoga Teacher Training

Student Profile: Rod and Roberta
Taj students Rod and Roberta attend weekly classes with instructor Nikki Chau. In this photo, they celebrate their first anniversary of yoga classes with a bouquet. Read Rod's story below, and learn why they like the Taj so much. Roberta and I are local real estate agents and life-long Seattle area residents. Both UW graduates, we have two adult children, a Seattle dermatologist and a Portland engineer.

"In ten years I may end up being a fit old man."
|
I had intended to give yoga a try, mainly because of the obvious physical fitness of committed practitioners, especially compared to my middle aged chubbiness, but so many places that offer training use confusing jargon. It didn't seem worth the effort to sort it all out. Then a friend recommended Taj Yoga to Roberta, and we signed up together. There are not many exercise regimens that we share, but yoga is one and going as a couple keeps us committed. (The other is swing dancing, which we have begun again after a few years' hiatus.)We find the workouts gently strenuous. We usually come home exhausted but energized, a weird but pleasant combination. We both adore Nikki. She's a very impressive young woman, committed to yoga and very fun loving and enthusiastic. She makes it easy to keep on coming every week. The greatest benefit I have experienced is improvement in my everyday balance. I had been noticing subtle signs of physical decline before we started, but now the subtle signs are of improvement. My muscle definition and body fat have improved, just slightly, but in ten years, I may end up being a fit old man.
