What's Up in February at Taj Yoga
Dear Friends,

It's funny  how much longer six years sounds to me compared to five.  But as I reflect on the significance of  this past year, it seems like a decade has passed.  And what a decade it was!  Please come celebrate with me and your fellow Taj-ites Friday,  February 18, at  Taj Yoga's 6th Birthday Party & Grand Opening of Taj 2.

This annual event has grown every year, and we have some very talented people at the Taj.   I am pleased to include them as well as members of the Taj Yoga Teatro in the evening's entertainment.   Doors open at 7:00 p.m., performances start at 7:30 p.m.  See below for details.

Changes to our Weekly Yoga Schedule
  • Changes to Theresa's schedule (week of January 31 only): Tuesday, Feb. 1, 9:30 a.m. Skill in Asana is cancelled, Thursday Feb. 3, 9:30 a.m. Intermediate Flow is cancelled, Saturday , Feb. 5, Intermediate "Go" will be subbed by Dylan Noebels and starts a half-hour later at 9 a.m. this week only. Her regular schedule resumes the week of Feb. 7.
  • Unwind with Heidi Fischer starts Tuesday, February 1, 4:30 p.m.  - 5:30 p.m.
  • Kirtan moves to 1st Friday of the month (no longer on Sundays).
  • Tuesday morning Sivananda moves to Friday evenings 5:30 p.m. - 6:45 p.m. Check out this new Sivananda time on February 4 and stay around for Kirtan!
  • Slimdown Yoga on Wednesday afternoons 4:30 p.m. - 5:45 p.m.  is changing.  Look for this class in the evenings starting in March.

Building Improvements

Retaining WallThank you Lambda Phi Epsilon, UW chapter, for pulling down the retaining wall that was slowly succumbing to gravity.  This once charming brick wall will be replaced with a similar curving wall in the near future. Thanks are also in order to Eagle Scout Troop 321, and to Steve and Joe Brockman for the construction of new storage carts in Taj 2.  With mirrors on the front and storage in the back for chairs and tables, these puppies are a Virgo's dream come true.

EXPECT Study
 
Theresa is involved with a research project with Group Health, the University of Arizona, and the University of Washington. If you or someone you know has chronic low back pain and are considering taking yoga to relieve your pain, you may be able to participate in this project.  Participation involves three interviews and you can earn up to $90.
