On Monday night, we lost the Impact Austin grant ($108,000) by one vote.  Yes, just one.  It was so close they needed to do a recount.

Izzie - An Autism Program dog
Izzie

Our proposal was for an expansion of our K9 Kids Club - Social Skill Enrichment program for children with high functioning autism.  Besides providing programming for 154 kids, a major component of our project is a scientific study of canine assisted therapy thru a joint effort with the Education Department at UT.  Our goal is to jointly publish our findings so that therapists across the country can duplicate our program and eventually it will be covered by insurance, just like equine therapy.  During our pilot program, several parents described the program as "life changing" for their child and for their family.

We need to go forward with this project.

Our plan B is to start with a grass roots fundraising effort.  You can help, with a donation - big or small.  10 or 10 thousand, we need every donation.  If we all pitch in, we can still make this happen. You can donate online thru paypal or mail in a check to our Training Center at 12129 Ranch Road 620 North, Suite 401  Austin TX 78750.

We will NOT give up!

Sincerely,
