Third Annual NEON, Inc. Membership Meeting
| As we continue to prepare for the start of NEON construction, NEON, Inc. has been working with various Federal entities to assess how the NEON physical and information infrastructure can be leveraged to help them achieve their respective mission mandates. Food, air, water, fiber, and energy are essential components of the human enterprise, and NEON data and information will play a role in the responsible stewardship of these resources.
It is with this in mind that the NEON, Inc. Board of Directors has selected the Washington DC metropolitan area for the third annual NEON, Inc. Membership Meeting. We will be inviting Federal officials to the meeting, and you will get to see for yourselves how we, as the environmental science community, play a part in these national initiatives. The USGS, in support of this goal, has kindly offered NEON, Inc. the use of its meeting facilities at the USGS HQ in Reston, VA, a short ride from Dulles International Airport.
We hope you will be able to attend the meeting and be an active participant in defining our role in the national conversation on large-scale environmental change. Please consider sending delegates who hail not just from the environmental sciences, but also from the information sciences, engineering, and social sciences.
