The Ancient Chinese (2,500 BC) spread the risk of loss
by placing 1/6 of their harvest on each of six boats traveling to the market.

Origins of Worker's Comp? Hammurabi (2,000 BC), ruler of Babylon, was responsible for the Cod of Hammurabi, part of which bears resemblance to today's workers' compensation laws.

Did they use PPE? Ancient Egyptians (as early as 1600 BC) recognized the hazards of breathing fumes produced by melting silver and gold.

Did they have a respiratory Protection Program? Hippocrates (460-377 BC), the father of contemporary medicine, established a link between the respiratory problems of Greek stonecutters and the rock dust surrounding them. Read on...

For help on choosing the correct pesticide, check out EPA's database at http://www.epa.gov/bedbugs/productsearch.
The site lists more than 300 different products registered for this use. For tips on preventing an infestation, check out this site for more info http://www.epa.gov/bedbugs.

Lights & Wipers Help Keep Drivers Safe
According to the Car Care Council, as days get shorter, lights on a vehicle become more critical, and drivers or passengers may not notice if a light isn't working. It is recommended to inspect lights at every oil change. At the same time, inspect and replace wipers blades so you can both see and be seen, reducing chances of an accident. Find more tips and resources on routine car maintenance at http://www.carcare.org.
