COMPLEMENTARY LEADERSHIP WHITE PAPERS:
I encourage you to read these highly relevant and robust white papers that speak directly to the impact of energetic leadership models in the workplace today:

RMING NOW

Hello

'Freedom lies in being bold.'
Robert Frost

The times call for it, your position requires it, and somewhere deep in your core...you know as well as I do that you have it in you to be bold.

So, just do it - be bold.

It is easy to type but sometimes difficult to put into action. Why? One word: Fear... the single most powerful emotion that influences the way in which we manage through our days.

Using Webster's dictionary, let's see if we can root out the fears that block our ability to be the bold leaders we know we are.

Follow this sequence:

BOLD: not hesitating or fearful in the face of actual or possible danger

DANGER: th
e state of being vulnerable to injury or loss

VULNERABLE: open to temptation, persuasion, or censure

TEMPTATION: to entice or allure to do something regarded as unwise or wrong

UNWISE: lacking in good sense or judgment

JUDGMENT:
the ability to make a decision objectively, authoritatively, and wisely

When I challenge a client to be bold in facing a leadership situation, there's often a fear-based 'what if' reason that immediately crops up. One way to bust that roadblock is to go through the sequence above and work it through using these questions:

1.What danger, actual or possible exists?
2. To what degree would my boldness create

vulnerability

3. What temptation will become evident in that vulnerability?

4. How might this lead to an unwise outcome or decision
5. How confident am I in my ability to make a decision wisely?

Bold leadership doesn't change the fact that there will be outcomes as a result of your actions, but, if you are confident in your ability to make wise decisions to manage the outcomes, then I challenge you to identify a fear that you can't work through that would enable your boldness to stand up and take center stage.

One last thought: try not to buy into the myth that a bold leader is someone with a personal style that is one dimensional and different from your own.  You can define 'bold' in any way you wish.

So, just do it - be bold.

Greetings!  ,for sharing your Second Cup with me.

 Mike
