I am always humbled by the generous feedback The Second Cup readers share with me. The responses I receive infuse me with a sense of purpose and gratitude that is invigorating.
While there is a consistent level of feedback (number of responses), there is a fair amount of inconsistency around which readers generate that feedback. It seems that each edition resonates differently with different segments of the
readership base.
In terms of motivation and commitment to change, this validates to me the existence of two important ingredients that influence successful self-coaching toward a new goal:
1. CONTENT
The message must be clear, accurate, and concise.
2. TIMING
That serendipitous condition that gives you pause to say
"I really needed to hear that today".
Content and Timing.....put the two together and a spark is created. Your attention is gained and there is the potential to ignite a 'fire in the belly'.
Unfortunately, too many stop at the spark. They miss the most critical component that is COMPLETELY within their control:
3. NURTURE
Sparks need fuel to keep them from quickly going out.
Recognizing the spark is worthless unless you actually do something with it! Accept that some force outside of self brought forth the magical potential of the right message at the right time. Don't let that opportunity for relevant personal
growth and change slip through your hands.
I am excited to introduce a new coaching service that will be offered in conjunction with The Second Cup. Beginning with the next edition (February 13), the box below will
contain a registration link to sign up for
The Extra Shot Package (information link below)
on that specific topic.
The package is completely optional, the opt-in process is easy,
and the delivery of services is packaged for ease of
use and re-use.
Think of it as The Second Cup with an Extra Shot.
Thanks for sharing your second cup with me!
Mike
