It's easy to get swept up into the group think that feeds a mentality like this:

'This is the worst economic crisis EVER - there are no opportunities, only despair.'
'My age is my biggest liability in today's job market'
'There is no record anywhere of a more difficult, demanding, and unreasonable client'
'It's all China's fault'
'Technology has made me obsolete'

Instead of placing a label on the situation you are facing that feeds into the above catabolic energy, try cutting your sentence short like this:

The current economy simply IS.
The client I'm working with simply IS.
My age simply IS.  

Now flip your energy toward identifying and articulating
why, how, where and when do
you UNIQUELY bring value to what IS.

This will shift the power back to YOU
and away from fueling the
energy that hungrily wants to change or control what IS.

Here's a thought:
In just a few years, it's a pretty safe bet that some of us will be looking back on these times as the 'good old days' when we were young.
