The Energy Leadership Index (E.L.I.) is a one-of-a-kind assessment that enables leaders to hold up mirrors to their perceptions, attitudes, behaviors, and overall leadership capabilities. The assessment takes roughly 45 minutes to complete online and includes a customized report and a 90 minute debrief/coaching session to help you understand the results and evaluate its applicability to your current situation.
This is a powerful self-awareness tool the I have used with many highly successful individuals who have hit a personal plateau or roadblock that is keeping them from hitting their goals.

(I almost missed a life-affirming weekend with family because I am SO busy and SO important and have SO much on my plate.) I just returned from a weekend trip that I should not have taken. It was two days that have put me behind the proverbial 8-ball with client deliverables, presentation preparation, and the never ending pile of laundry. By all practical accounts, I should have been at my desk spending the two days writing a proposal, crafting an upcoming speech, and getting things done around the house.
Instead, I spent the weekend celebrating my niece's birthday and recent engagement in New York City. This was the first time in a few too many years that my family wasn't gathering under the clouds of one of the 'dark D's' - divorce, disease, or death. We were together this time to start writing the newest chapter in the family novel..........turning the page to what's next, instead of re-reading past chapters.
(I almost missed a life-affirming weekend with family because I am SO busy and SO important and have SO much on my plate.)
This link takes you to a 5-minute video that I hope you will trust me when I say is worth the time to view. Watch as the leadership team of this family takes the wedding guests on an elaborate path that will make you laugh out loud as it reveals an amazing example of the most powerful form of leadership there is - the kind that is life-affirming.
ENJOY:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KgZ4ZTTfKO8&feature=youtube_gdata_player I was awe-struck by the amount of planning and organization that must have gone into pulling off such an elaborate and complete experience. And, to have maintained it as 'private and confidential' until making it public speaks volumes about the management skills these guys possess.
I really wanted to think that this was possible because these people couldn't possibly be as busy or important as most of us are and, therefore, had the time to devote to it.
But the practical side of me noticed the lavish setting and well-heeled participants and it was clear to me this was a successful, professional crowd who probably had a life-load that was similar to my own.
So, by what force of nature was this group led to create such a life-affirming event?
I believe it was the leadership team of this 'organziation' - who I interpret to be the two fathers and the groom .
These guys not only managed to fulfill the text-book roles that the wedding planner laid out for them, they also reached very deep inside of themselves to create a life-defining moment for their family, their guests, and (thanks to You Tube ) the world.
They went beyond the norm, exceeded even the highest expectations, not only went 'outside the box', but crushed that box on their way out.
They demonstrated what, in my opinion, is the most powerful form of leadership............Life Affirming Leadership.
They brought out the very best in everyone who participated and everyone who watched.
They touched their hearts, minds, and souls. And, mine, too. That's powerful leadership. (I am grateful to a very good friend who sent this video to me last week which made me see that I probably wasn't so busy, important, or carrying such a full plate that I couldn't make time for a life-affirming weekend with family - at least I didn't have to sing or dance.)
Looking forward to our next time,
