Circulation at your library continues to increase this year. A total of 437,701 items were borrowed from KRL in the first two months of 2010, up 3.6 percent from circulation for the first two months of 2009, and 2009 was a record year for KRL circulation.

Branches showing the largest circulation increase were Downtown Bremerton, up 28 percent; bookmobile, up 19 percent; Manchester, up 9.6 percent; Port Orchard, up 7.5 percent, Bainbridge Island, up 6.4 percent; and Kingston, up 5 percent.

Kingston Friends of the Library present Jennifer Culkin, author of A Final Arc of Sky: A Memoir of Critical Care. A critical care and emergency flight nurse, Culkin is no stranger to death and its dramas. Her memoir plunges the reader into chaotic scenes where she struggles to keep seriously injured patients alive while wedged against the door of an August 109A helicopter.

Meet author and Kitsap County resident Richard LeMieux, who had it all until the trappings of success were stripped away and he was left homeless. "Breakfast at Sally's," written by LeMieux on a discarded typewriter while he was living in his minivan, reveals who the homeless really are, what redemption really means.

Come hear his story of his descent into homelessness and his inspirational journey to peace and a new life.
