Well boys, this is it - my last newsletter as your editor before Jeff Dorsey assumes the position (no pun intended). I will be out of town this Friday but look forward to reading Jeff's first Exchangite next week. I am grateful for Jeff's help in the past and his willingness to accept the new responsibility now. I also wish to thank Dennis Koch for all his help. He has taken my words each week and put them into a pretty slick e-mail. I like what he does and appreciate how fast he turned it around. Though he has only been in the club a short time, David Adam was a great help as well. Thank you, David. It has been an honor to serve as your Exchangite Editor eight of the past nine years (remember that John Tripp came out of retirement to pen the bulletin during my presidency). As John often told me, the job of the editor is important not only for the club to survive, but to thrive. The weekly bulletin and the information it provides is the life-line of the club. I've tried to do it with my spin on things and hoped you found it not only informational but entertaining. Some weeks I was better than others but I always kept John's remarks in mind and understood what my job was. Thank you for allowing me to serve you. |

The induction of new officers and board members. This is a special opportunity to say thanks to President Steve Green for his leadership over the past 12 months and welcome President Perry Terwelp. I believe we will also present a few awards (i.e. Exchangite of the Year and the Distinguished Service Award). As has become the new tradition, Dennis Koch will be capably handling the induction ceremony. It will be a good one so leave your worries at your worksite or home and join us for a good time at Quincy's Finest Hour! |

A fired up and passionate Chris Duerr! Good to have Chris with us to share not only his comments on the Do or Die Bowl, but his perspective on his work as Sports Director at KHQA-TV. Chris hits the nail on the head with his understanding of local sports and more importantly the young men and women who play them. We are blessed to have him in our area and doing the job he does. David Adam with the good introduction and a reference to the infamous "Lorchcast". (If you have not seen it, this link should get you there. |

Jared Haugh with the good prayer and Alderman Dan Brink leading the pledge... Les Sachs has officially been reinstated to the club. Welcome back, Les... Jared Haugh passing out prizes from the previous Friday golf outing. Didn't seem to matter if you got first or third, you got a sleeve of balls... Greg Curran a guest of brother, Kevin... Chuck Venvertloh had the right 50/50 ticket but picked the wrong card (queen of spades) so the pot grows. Should be approaching the $1,600 mark this week... Steve Peters twisting tails and sharing a great story about the pharmacist's daughter... Spoke with Tim Wiewel on Tuesday afternoon. Said he is doing well and appreciated all the thoughts and prayers from fellow Exchangites... A salute to all veterans, in the club and not, as we prepare to celebrate another Independence Day. Thank you for the freedoms we enjoy... That's all for now, 'til next time, may God's love, grace, and peace be with you and the ones you love. |
