The Annual Spouse Christmas Party will be on Friday, December 2 at the Holiday Inn, 48th and Oak Streets. Open Bar at 6, Dinner at 6:45, the party is free to Exchange Club members and their spouses or significant others (but not both!) The Big Basketball Preview emceed by KHQA's Chris Duerr (also known as Jerry Ebbing's son-in-law). A pleasure to have Chris on duty as we heard from Quincy University Coach Marty Bell, John Wood Community College Coach Brad Hoyt, Quincy High School Coaches Greg Altmix and Sean Taylor, and Quincy Notre Dame High School Coaches Eric Orne and Scott Douglas. Each of the coaches told us a bit about their programs and what they anticipate over the next several months. Lots of laughs and plenty of good lines shared throughout the event between Chris, the coaches, and the crowd. We wish all the coaches and their respective programs much success this season.

| This & That | | | Jared Haugh with the fine prayer and Doug Greenwell leading the pledge... As mentioned above, Dick Klimstra the guest of Hall Broadwater and Ilija Cuck the guest of Gary Peters... President Steve Green thanking Mel Dillman for his work on the program the week before, to Jeff Dorsey for organizing our efforts at the Veterans Parade, and to Barb (and Skip) Rueter for mending our American Flag - that we carried at that parade... President Steve also updating us on action from the 11/14 board meeting; $250 donation to the Veterans Parade and an agreement to purchase a new beard for Santa, which drew numerous comments from the gathering... Special Olympics Basketball Tournament Chairman Kevin Curran still looking to fill a few open spots on the December 11thschedule. Referees, scorekeepers, and timers still needed... In the interest of time, no tail twister last week and the 50/50 was replaced with a raffle with all proceeds to benefit the local Special Olympics program. We were able to raise $150 for the good of the cause. Our thanks to the coaches who collectively donated over a dozen items from their schools/programs for the raffle... Look for more details about the December 2nd Spousal Christmas Party in next week's Exchangite... We will have a Noon meeting on December 2nd... Happy Thanksgiving to all of you and your loved ones!
