Smoke on the River BBQ & Blues Fest Meeting Thursday
All Exchangites are invited to the Smoke on the River Meeting on Thursday (7/14) evening; 5:30 p.m. at The Dock. Lots to be done in a short time so your talents and energy are needed. Open to all Exchangites.

This Friday
We'll welcome the lovely and talented Carol Sowers from KHQA-TV. Carol will be speaking to us about KHQA's Just Let it Ring; Don't Text & Drive campaign. Certainly an important and timely issue. Tempted to drive and text myself, it is a dangerous game; one we nor our kids need play. Join us Friday to learn more about the campaign and have a little fun at Quincy's Finest Hour.

Illinois State Senator John Sullivan joined us to provide a legislative update. Senator Sullivan spoke about the budget process, funding cuts, and redistricting among other issues. He also told us that he thought this year was one of the more bi-partisan efforts (in putting together the budget) he has seen during his time in office. Good to have Senator Sullivan with us. Adams County Sheriff Brent Fischer with the introduction.

Another Friday away from the Club last week; two straight for me. Looking forward to Quincy's Finest Hour this Friday... All my chief note takers (Jeff Dorsey and Dennis Koch) away for the day as well so not much to write in this space... Jared Haugh had the right 50/50 ticket but picked the wrong card (king of spades) so the pot grows. $1,058 will be yours if you get lucky back to back on Friday... Paul Niemann has submitted his letter of resignation. As I understand it, Paul and his new bride, Melinda, now make their home in the St. Louis area making it tough for Paul to me a member. Best wishes, Paul... In naming the Exchangite of the Year, I neglected to remind you it is the Bill Hageman Exchangite of the Year...
