Macker Meeting Thursday (4/28)
Gus

Macker Meeting Thursday night, April 28th - 5:30 p.m. at "The Church of the Dock".  All Exchangites welcome.

This Friday

Quincy Gems

We'll get our first look at the 2011 Quincy Gems as Coach Chris Martin will join us.  Coach Martin will tell us about the players he has contracted this summer and explain the process of discovering those players.  Gems General Manager Rob Ebbing will be on hand as well to update us on the league and anything else new to Quincy's Boys of Summer.  Should be another good one so please plan on joining us for Quincy's Finest Hour.

Dogwood Parade This Saturday
 Dogwood

My thanks to GIVEAKIDACHANCE Chairman Dave Poland for this great information - everything you need to know in order to participate on Saturday:

·         The Dogwood Parade is this Saturday, April 30th.

·         We need Exchangites to hand out flags as we lead off the parade.

·         The Scouts from St. Francis will carry our big flag.

·         We will line up at 24th and Maine at 9:15 a.m.  The parade starts at 9:30 a.m.  Let's try and have as many of us there as possible.

·         For rain delay information, listen to the radio/TV around 7:30 a.m.  If a delay is warranted, they will delay the parade 2 hours to 11:30 a.m. (meet at 11:15 a.m. in that case).  If the rain persists, continue to listen to the radio/TV for an announcement to cancel the parade.

·         Since I will be running a half marathon in Champaign that morning, John Johannes will be handling the day for me.

Friday Last

No meeting as it was Good Friday.  Hope you enjoyed time spent with family and friends.

Urgent Need for Macker Busters

Gentlemen, we need the assistance of ALL Exchangites in signing up Gus Macker Busters (court referees).  We're not punching the panic button yet but we are entering a critical period.  Almost exactly one month until the tournament and we have less than 50% of the busters we need for the weekend.  We are approximately 45 short.

If you can't Bust, please supply us with the name of a person who could work the weekend.  Each Gus Buster will receive a fanny pack, two t-shirts, a hat, an official's whistle, and a stop watch.  In addition, Gus Busters will receive $25 for each day that they officiate and a bonus of $25 for officiating both days for a total of $75 for the weekend.  This is a great chance for a son, daughter, niece, nephew, or grandchild to pick up some extra money, not to mention the wonderful experience.  They need to be 16 or older.  They can sign up and work together with a friend.

Please do your part to ensure a successful event.  Thank you.

This & That

Congratulations to our Book of Golden Deeds recipient, Tom Behrens.  Golden Deeds Chairman Dave Rees notified Tom of the award last Friday while he was attending a meeting at the Salvation Army.  We'll recognize Tom on May 6th...  That's all for now, 'til next time, may God's love, grace, and peace be with you and the ones you love.
