"I guess no one is deserving of our Golden Deeds award since we have not received any nominations at this time."
- Golden Deeds Chairman Dave Rees then followed up his comment with, "there is still time though." Gentlemen, we need to step up and not only write a letter but perhaps organize an effort to recognize someone who make a difference in our community. |

| This Friday | |
We'll welcome Mrs. Maggie Strong (daughter of former member Judge Mark Schuering) to speak about the Midsummer Arts Faire which will take place in Washington Park on June 24th, 25th, and 26th. This is what a quick check of the internet (www.artsfaire.org) found about the event: "The Midsummer Arts Faire is designed to engage people of all ages and experiences in the joy of creativity. The centerpiece of this three-day festival is a juried fine art exhibition and sale, complemented by great entertainment, wonderful food, hands-on children's activities, and a Young Collectors Gallery - all in the heart of the Historic Quincy Business District!" See you Friday for Quincy's Finest Hour! |

Local entrepreneur Tim Lung with the story and business philosophy behind Crawdad's Classic Gourmet Hot Sauce. Though the sauce is made and bottled in Gallatin TN, Tim and his wife, Tamie, reside in Camp Point. It was Tamie's father, Cordell "Crawdad" Bixler, who started the business in 1995. Marketing director Josh Klitz told us about the "Growing Tree Foundation" established by the Lunts. Jeff Dorsey with the good introduction. |

For those of you not sure of what the criteria is, it's a pulse and a checkbook... Burger Bash Chairman Jared Haugh providing an update on our NCAA bracket contest. Basically Gary Hillebrenner and Perry Terwelp did okay and the rest were bad. If I understood correctly, no member had UConn...
