| This Friday | |
We'll welcome back former member Heath Richmond, Senior District Executive of Mississippi Valley Council of the Boy Scouts of America, to tell us about BSA's new National High Adventure Base called "The Summit" in West Virginia. The new base will be the home of the National Jamboree. Not sure what a high adventure base is? Join us Friday to learn more. In addition, we'll welcome the 2A Girls Basketball State Champion Quincy Notre Dame Lady Raiders, Coach Eric Orne, and his staff. Should be another good one so please join us Friday for Quincy's Finest Hour!

A very good program on military recruiting in the area by U.S. Army Sergeant First Class David Crum. SFC Crum, an Iraq veteran (during his 12 month deployment his team was responsible for successful detection and disarming of 336 IED and road side bombs), explained the Quincy Recruiting Station covers 6,000 square miles and usually inks about 150 individuals into military service annually. About 54% of those recruits join the U.S. Army. Joining SFC Crum was his boss, SFC Wood, who plans to retire by year's end. Jim Benz with the good introduction. |
| Youth of the Month | | | Congratulations to Quincy High School senior Grace Holthaus for being named our March Youth of the Month. Grace is an exceptional student with a 4.4607 GPA. She is involved in numerous activities at QHS including Scholastic Bowl, Golf, Spanish Club, Key Club, student council and the National Honors Society. Grace also volunteers for the Quincy Art Center and with the Blessing Hospital Youth Corps. She plans on attending Truman State University next year. Barb Holthaus is the proud mom. Quincy High School Director of Counseling Mike Llewellyn with the introduction. |

Guests (potential members) are welcome. |

Jared Haugh with the good prayer and Eric Thomas leading the pledge... Hey, how about this - first reading on Tony Nutt sponsored by Curt Moore. The Draught (up to 161 days this Friday) looks like it will be over soon... President Kent Anderson asked if anyone was interested in carrying the flag for this Saturday's St. Patrick's Day Parade. Don't think he had any takers... Breakings news - Courtney Hageman is marrying Devin Heightman this Saturday, March 12th. Rumor has it that Devin's father will be there with shotgun in hand. Either way, congratulations Courtney and Devin... Macker Co-Chairman Curt Moore and Rick Goughnour heading to Monticello IN for Macker business soon... Is the honeymoon over yet, Paul Niemann... Skip Reuter had the right ticket for the second consecutive week but for the second consecutive week he picked the wrong card (six of spades). Pot is up to $453... Jeff Dorsey twisting tails but wisely omitting the Irish joke he had ready... Hard to believe that President Kent is down to about 15 Friday meeting left in his administration. Guess I was wrong about it being our last year; looks like we'll survive after all... That's all for now, 'til next time, may God's love, grace, and peace be with you and the ones you love. |
