We're back at ABVI where we'll recognize five local student athletes as Character Champions. These young people and their actions have caught the attention of their coaches and communities and now we will celebrate them. In addition, we may have a few other items to fill the program but we haven't been able to confirm them as of yet. Either way, it'll be a good one so please plan on joining us. See you Friday for Quincy's Finest Hour! |

A great trip to the beautiful Adams County Health Department's headquarters. Our thanks to Public Health Administrator Nancy Bluhm and her capable staff for their hospitality. Touring the building was impressive but equally so was the presentation Nancy gave us before hand. Nancy told us that if they are doing their job, "nothing happens." That is a good thing! Adams County Chairman Mike McLaughlin with the introduction. (Learn more about our health department and the great services they provide by visiting this website: http://www.co.adams.il.us/health/) |

Rev. Jim Totsch with the prayer and Steve Labs leading the pledge... Outstanding attendance for a road trip - especially in light of the cold and snowy conditions... President Kent telling us about a nice thank you from the Hearing Impaired program and thank you cards from the kids themselves passed around for all to see... Jared Haugh announcing the club is replacing the annual Surf 'N Turf social, usually conducted in February, with a new (yet-to-be-officially-named) social in March. Specifically, March 16th. More details in the days ahead... Speaking of details, look to learn more about the club's 65th anniversary celebration and 100 years of Exchange soon... Congratulations to Paul Niemann on his engagement to the lovely and talented Melinda Haxel. February 26th the date and Blessed Sacrament the location for the big event. Melinda is obviously a very kind and patient woman... My thanks to all Exchangites for the many expression of condolences on the loss of my grandmother. She was about five weeks away from her 98th birthday when she passed away on January 19th. A blessing she has been called Home... Just a coincidence that President Kent picked his own ticket during the 50/50? There was no such shenanigans when it came to the card draw as he picked the wrong one (I believe it was the eight of hearts). Pot at $400 for the 25th straight week. Just kidding, Art... That's all for now, 'til next time, may God's love, grace, and peace be with you and the ones you love. |
