Quote of the Week

"Humility does not mean thinking less of yourself than of other people, nor does it mean having a low opinion of your own gifts.  It means freedom from thinking about yourself at all."

Not sure who William Temple is or was but he gets credit with this good one.

A Point to Ponder
Have you signed up for the Spousal Christmas Party yet?  Dennis Koch will have the sign-up sheets out for the December 10th party again this Friday.  The party will be in Holiday Inn from 6:00 p.m. to whenever.  Open bar at 6:00 p.m., dinner at 7:00 p.m., and entertainment at 8:00 p.m.  As I try to do often here, I encourage all Exchangites, especially you new men, to participate in the club socials.  Dennis has a great evening planned and best of all it is FREE!

This Friday

KettleWe'll resume at ABVI to hear from one of the organizations that does a great job (with a lot of community support) serving those in need; The Salvation Army.  Major Alan Wurtz will be with us to educate and update us on all the Salvation Army activities.  From the Kettle Drive to the Kroc Center, the Salvation Army and their good deeds are everywhere.  See you Friday for Quincy's Finest Hour!

This & That

Not sure if President Kent Anderson will institute the waitress gift collection this week, next week, or both, but please be prepared.  We respectfully request a green bill with a picture of President Andrew Jackson on it...  My good friend John Tripp is certainly smiling down at me this week - an Exchangite the week after no meeting.  I don't get it but John always told me it was important "to keep the boys informed" and that repetition was good.  I do out of respect for him...  I forgot to congratulate Rich Zeidler a few weeks back.  Rich received Transition's Williams Award.  I'm told Rich was nominated by his peers and the award is given to someone who "quietly goes about their work" and does a great job.  In spite of the quiet part, Rich was selected!  Congratulations on the recognition and for 35 years at Transitions, Rich...  As I finish the last few words for this Exchangite on Tuesday afternoon, I wanted to let you know that I saw Max Johnson early this morning.  He looked great and was especially chipper.  He wanted to make sure I told all the guys hello.  So, from Max, "Hello"...  That's all for now, 'til next time, may God's love, grace, and peace be with you and the ones you love.
