Quote of the Week

"That's what we are supposed to do; we are Americans."

- The Navy Corpsman's response to the foreigners questioning why he would jeopardize his life for someone that wasn't a buddy or even an American - from the story told by Oliver North.  Makes you proud doesn't it?

A Point to Ponder

If you weren't fighting back the tears while we watched the video of the two soldiers who surprised their children in their classrooms then maybe your heart has grown too old and too cold.

This Friday

The Big Basketball Preview.  Please join us back at ABVI for what will certainly be a busy program; we will have the men's and women's basketball coaches from Quincy High School, Quincy Notre Dame High School, John Wood Community College, and Quincy University.  We'll learn a bit about the respective teams and what their coaches expect for their upcoming seasons.  See you Friday for Quincy's Finest Hour!

Road Trip Friday Last

An outstanding Veterans Day Program at the Quincy Board of Education Office.  Mel Dillman did it up right for our members and the 50 plus youngsters who were with us and who are students in Mrs. Lisa Goughnour's advanced history classes.  In addition to a great PowerPoint presentation and recognition of all veterans in the club, Iraq veteran Jay Schaefer shared the story of his service.  A big thank you to Mel, Kory Cole (Richard's son), Jeff Dorsey, Lonny Lemon, Jimmie Louthen, and Jay for their valuable contributions.  Good stuff!

This & That

The silver tongued Jared Haugh with another outstanding prayer...  In case you were wondering, 17 veterans in the club...  Great job by Curt Moore turning the lights off and on last Friday.  As his boss says, the man is multi-talented...  A big thanks to all the men who assisted with the flag during the Veterans Parade on Saturday.  Always a beautiful sight, but especially on a sunny day...  Can you believe that we down to half a dozen meeting left in 2010 - and subsequently, half of the President Kent Anderson administration?  Wow...  Exchangite late last week so extra early this week...  That's all for now, 'til next time, may God's love, grace, and peace be with you and the ones you love.
