What do Del Loos and Shakespeare have in common? Find out this Friday when formerly honorable Justice Robert Cook will attempt to speak to us about "Humor in the Law." Born in Springfield, Judge Cook received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Illinois in 1967. Hizzoner practiced law in Quincy from 1970 to 1983, then served on the Circuit Court bench until 1991 when he was appointed to the 4th District Appellate Court. Should be interesting. See you Friday for Quincy's Finest Hour! |

| Caren Kemner provided insight into her foundation - The Riverfront Athletic Association. Intended as a place to train future Olympians as well as local talent, Caren has been working with Olympic great Jackie Joyner-Kersee and others to bring her dream to fruition. Housed at K&L arena, she has installed five volleyball and four basketball courts. Recent volleyball and basketball camps saw more than 600 attendees in a single day. Great to hear her reminisce about her days on the National Volleyball team and meetings with world figures such as Fidel Castro. |

Eric Schultz with the prayer, Bill Stalder leading the pledge and Jeff Dorsey twisting some tails... "Bud" the guest of Superintendent Lonny Lemon (no, not that one - Bud Martin, the new business manager) Jim Totsch and Dennis Koch back from the dessert and the National Convention. Jim did a great job presenting the Character Champions seminar at one of the break-out sessions. The aforementioned Bill Stalder and President Kent's daughter finishing up a run in "All Shook Up" at the Comminity Theater. Editor Rick enjoying a well-earned vacation - times like this make me appreciate how hard he works to get this rag out every week. Let's see if we can bring in some new members - remember, we need 12-13 new members every years just to stay even! That's all I got - you're up next week Cullan! |
