Some Citrus Damage Expected from Freeze
Florida Citrus Mutual spokesman Andrew Meadows and Florida Citrus Commissioner Vic Story say Wednesday morning's freeze likely did some damage to the citrus crop. Listen here to their report. Fresh citrus fruit will almost certainly be impacted by the recent Florida freeze, but no one will know to what extent for some time, say Florida Citrus Packers Executive Vice President Richard Kinney and Florida Citrus Commission Chairman George Streetman, also a packer. Listen to the packer interviews here. The USDA's Jan. 12 crop forecast will show how much Florida citrus fruit, if any, was lost to this week's freeze. Learn more here.
