Red Hen Pictures Help CTA security during NATO conference in Chicago.
In 2003, Red Hen representatives Hoot Gibson and Ken Burgess took on a mission for Aldridge Electric. They went into Chicago's subway system to map the nearly 20 miles of underground track.
Hoot and Ken attached a VMS 300 device and cameras to a work train that provided 12 foot wide images of the tunnel walls and infrastructure. More than 16,000 geo-referenced images were captured over a three day period.
Aldridge Electric was able to use these images to gauge where to place their cell phone antennas for the commuters use underground.
This project saved Aldridge Electric from risking their safety in the tunnels conducting site inspections. All of the images could be viewed from desktop software instead of climbing down and possibly injuring employees.
"It was great because Aldridge was able to view and evaluate the area without dangerous site inspection," Hoot said.

This mission proved even more beneficial this past month with the commencement of the NATO 2012 Conference in Chicago.
Hoot realized that this would be a good opportunity to share crucial information taken with Red Hen technologies. He
contacted the security director of the Chicago Transit Authority, Jim Higgins, to explain that these images could benefit commuter safety.

Higgins was interested and requested the photos. He also received a copy of MediaMapper software to map the still images and get a detailed view of the tunnels.
Now all of the photos have a home with the CTA security to be analyzed and used for important intelligence training. |

VMS-HD $1,000 Cheaper and Ready to Ship
Our VMS-HD systems cost less than ever for the same equipment.
This is a tool that has been used by electric, defense and even travel companies that specialize in high-definition video and mapping technologies. VMS-HD allows you to record HD video from your existing cameras in digital format. It packages GPS information within a high-def video using one of the smallest devices out there. The information is stored in an easy-to-transfer compact flash card and works with the rest of our software to map and share crucial information. |
