Mount Rushmore, the walkways of Venice and the deserts of Qatar all have Red Hen in common thanks to the videography of Skyworks.
Skyworks operates a Red Hen sDVR on Cineflex camera system for high-quality shots of landscapes all over the world.
The company's helicopters have swept the skies of more than 25 states in the U.S. and numerous videos from Europe that took Red Hen along for the best GPs assistance.
The UK-based company keeps the largest amount of aerial stock footage of sweeping landscapes and historical sites. Their work has been used by the Discovery Channel, BBC and National Geographic channel.
"For all of these uses the Red Hen Systems equipment is invaluable in locating footage via the MediaMapper software, as well as allowing us to introduce spatial mapping as a search criteria for our footage," said Colin Mills from Skyworks.
The company does more than fancy helicopter shots. Skyworks utilizes the equipment for recording, archiving and mapping.
"We use GPS in everything we do, right from logistics planning through filming, all the way to the final product, which in the case of our MediaSavi interactive web systems, has GPS spatial mapping at its core," Mills said. The sDVR keeps timecode for footage in order for the company to find the HD video they need. But like all hi-tech gear, Skyworks had questions on its use and problems with its function. Thankfully they called Red Hen to help them assemble the unit successfully. "...the level of service is there to ensure that we can always find a rapid and successful result," Mills said.
The company has many more landscapes planned in the future. Mills said that the next missions include Brazil, China and India as well as more work in the United States.
