Dec. 10- The Alpineer's 12 days of christmas begins. A new special everyday. Stop in to see the list. also, Wine and Cheese with IceBreaker at the Alpineer. For every $100 in IceBreaker spent, get $20 in IceBreaker bucks. 6-8pm.
Dec. 11- From the Weekly-"Molly's First Paper Party" on Friday, happy hour at the Eldo (a 5-7 pm-ish scenario). We'll have free beer from the Eldo Taproom, open ears and pen and paper to write it all down. Businesses, event organizers, fellow writers and editors, friends, acquaintances, long-time locals and newcomers - everyone is invited. So come have a beer with us. This is an opportunity to tell an editor exactly what you think...

Dec. 12- The Crested Butte Mountain Heritage Museum is pleased to offer an afternoon for the kids. 2 to 5 p.m. Admission is free but a donation would be greatly appreciated. The Museum will show a video called "Strangers in the Woods." The video is set in the winter and is a journey into the woods with Pierre and Janine. This is a magical tale of animals reacting to a snowman that appears after a winter storm. As a promotion for this video, if you purchase a book or a video that day you will receive the soundtrack and 19% off the purchase price. Following the video, Santa will visit the Museum and you can take picture with him to send to family and friends for the Holidays. This will be a fun afternoon for kids of all ages!!
Dec. 12- Christmas Variety Show brought to you by the Crested Butte Mountain Theatre. 7:30 pm at the Mallardi Cabaret. $15 suggested donation. Under 15- pay their age.
Dec. 12- Escape Bodywork Boutique will be hosting a Grand Opening Party from 7-9 pm at Rumors Coffeehouse. Join the party for free chair massage, henna bodyart, giveaways, snacks and refreshments. Dec. 13 & 17-Children's Gingerbread Houses with Arrangements Catering & Events. Each child will have a preassembled Gingerbread house to decorate with their imagination. Lots of Royal Icing, Candies, Jellies, and Mints will be provided for their creativity. A box will be provided for them to take home their masterpiece. Ages 3 and up. $40. Dec. 17-Join the Adaptive Sports Center to celebrate our community and another wonderful holiday season. 7-10 p.m. at Maxwells. $30/adults, $15/children includes beer, a holiday cocktail, heavy appetizers and a dessert buffet. Tyler Hanson & Stephanie Stevenson will be enchanting the evening with their musical presence.
Dec 18- Mark Drucker and Allison Keagle will open The Ruby Cinema in Gunnison. This is the second venture for Drucker and Keagle, who began running the Majestic Theatre in Crested Butte in December of 2005. The Ruby Cinema will operate in the Prosser Theater in the new College Center on the Western State College campus. The Ruby Cinema will publish its contact information and its own website address on the Majestic Theatre website (www.cbmajestic.net) as soon as they are available. There will be advance tickets available for opening night and beyond sometime before the 18th. The opening film at the Ruby Cinema will be James Cameron's Avatar in 3D. The students have had academic preparation in dealing with small business problems, opportunities, marketing plans, business plans, and feasibility studies. The Trailhead Children's Discovery Museum is opening another temporary space this winter! It will be open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the lower level of the Treasury Center in Mt. Crested Butte starting the first week of December. Five month family memberships will be available for $125 and can be purchased at The Trailhead's new location or by contacting Meike Meissner, development coordinator, at 970-901-7591 or meikemeissner@thetrailheadcb.org
The Trailhead also needs $10,000 to purchase the new custom indoor playset as well as a number of smaller exhibits without using funds designated for The Trailhead's new permanent building (which is scheduled to break ground in Crested Butte next spring).
