A Cat Dust Bath

Even Indoor cats can go out to enjoy a dust bath. It doesn't take much, a dusty sidewalk will do.

Dust bathing has been documented in numerous species, such as horses, bison, elephants, and birds.

Some humans speculate that in the wild it helps remove parasites or is good for the oils on the skin.

For a clean in-door-cat, it probably just feels great! And feeling great, can't be bad thing!.

Muscles of the Thigh Area of the Dog.

Lameness is one of the most common complaints that are presented to the veterinarian. To better diagnose the cause of lameness, the outer muscles of the dog thigh need to be defined and palpated.

Spring Time!

Nashotah Dog Park has numerous Blue Bird Boxes donated and monitored by Dr. Jill Kusba. She has a total of 30 bird boxes in the area that house blue birds, tree swallows and chickadees.

It is hatchling time with new hungry mouths to be fed. Despite the perturbations of nature, about 20-25 blue birds are fledged each year.

 Primatologist
Frans De Waal focuses on the manifestation of empathy in chimps.

In his book, he gives numerous examples of primate empathy.

One salient  study captured on video demonstrates how one chimp will reject a higher reward such as a grape if his fellow chimp mate is given a lesser reward.
