5  Most Important Things to Consider When Planning Your Remodeling Project
Basement Image Greetings!

John here!  Thanks for joining our "Team Tamer"!  This is the first of a short series of emails you will receive about some the the very important things to think about when considering a remodeling project.

I have been a Professional Remodeling Contractor for over 20 years and I have seen the good and the bad in this industry.  My goal is to help you make the right decisions and ask the right questions so your remodeling project is a pleasurable experience for you.

Please enjoy the information I provide over the next few weeks and I will continue to keep you posted on some interesting news about homes and remodeling, industry trends, products and of course, Team Tamer News!

 Stay or Go?
This is the #1 dilema I hear from my clients.  Should I remodel my home or just move?  I often hear, I love my location and my neighbors but my house just does not work for our lifestyle.

I always advise my clients that if you are happy in your current location, we can design your home around your lifestyle, whether it is a small change such as the re-design of the kitchen or baths, or a major change such as an addition or total renovation to make your dream home in your current location.

 Good or Bad Investment?
One of the biggest concerns I hear from my clients is whether it is worth investing into their home or trying to find a new or existing home that suites their lifestyle.

Chances are, you will not find the exact home in the exact neighborhood in the exact price range you are already in if you are happy with your current location.

True, if you invest alot of money in your home today to accomodate your wants and needs, you may not get the money back dollar for dollar if you try to sell your home a month later.  However, Real Estate still appreciates over time, especially if there are improvements done.

As long as you plan to stay in your home for a few years, you should see a good return on your investment, and you are able to enjoy the benefits while you live here.

I Can't Imagine it ...
Once you have decided  the best option for you is to remodel, you now have to visualize what you can do with your existing home.

The best option for you is to establish a relationship with a Professional Remodeling company that specializes in Design/Build.  Select Design/Build companies have 3-D computer programs which can be an excellent visual aid to help you see your project instead of trying to imagine what it looks like by reading a typical 2-dimensional "blue print".

What  is the purpose of Design/Build?
By establishing a relationship with a Design/Build specialist, clients can enjoy the benefit of dealing with one company from the very beginning of the planning and budgeting stages, through the design process and eventually the building or remodeling process.

By retaining Tamer as a Design/Build Professional, our clients do not have to interview architects or draftpersons and hope they are staying on target with their wants, needs and budget.  We start with the initial interview and handle the entire project through design, permits, building/remodeling, decorating and final ready-to-use walk-through.

 Budget.....?
Although it is the most avoided subject when meeting with potential Contractors, please keep in mind that some of us are Professional Design/Build/Remodeling Specialists.

It is extremely important that we establish a budget for your building/remodeling project at our first meeting.  We need to determine that the project you have in mind reflects the amount of money you are ready to invest into your home.  If your established budget does not reflect the scope of work that you have in mind, we will work with you to establish what improvements will fit into your budget to meet your wants and needs.
