Your Partnership is Vital . . . |

We don't have to tell you that times are lean!
As a community nonprofit organization, we rely on individuals, businesses, civic groups and foundations from within the community to provide over 40% ($260,000) of our annual budget so that we in turn can provide musical arts education and performances for all ages, incomes and abilities right here in the Cumberland Valley.
With the current economic downturn squeezing every one of our revenue streams, we really need the financial support of our many friends!
What does your CVSM donation do to impact our community?
· It provides scholarships for the growing number of low-income students who wouldn't be able to take music lessons or attend summer music camps.
· It provides funding for the hundreds of recitals and other performances offered each year in the community - string orchestra, symphonic band, children's chorus, jazz band, student recitals, and so much more. A majority of these performances are offered free of charge to the community!
· It provides salaries for over 55 professional musicians in the community who serve as CVSM faculty and share their skill, talent, experience and knowledge with students of all ages and abilities.
· It brings in musicians playing a variety of music genres from other parts of the country - and even the world - for workshops and concerts.
· It helps CVSM to complement public and private school music programs so that students can access one-on-one instruction and ensemble performance opportunities to further their music study and competance.
· It provides nourishment to the human spirit in the form of musical arts education, performance and appreciation - essential at all times and most certainly during challenging economic times like these!
We need your help now more than ever . . .

Neighborhood Chef's Walk Musicale Saturday, June 6, 2009 · 4-7PM Alexander Avenue, Chambersburg
Our final CVSM musicale of the season is something completely different!
Imagine . . . a warm summer evening, friends and neighbors out on the street, great foods prepared by local chefs and a variety of musicians performing as you stroll along the street, culminating in an outdoor concert as the evening draws to a close.
The CVSM Neighborhood Chef's Walk on Saturday, June 6th will begin at 4:00 pm and conclude at 7:00 pm. Alexander Avenue in Chambersburg is an attractive street with very pretty homes built in the 1950s and 60s, but it's the unique mix of people who live there that make it truly special. There are performing musicians, local politicians, restaurateurs, several longtime patrons of the arts, and five culinary experts! Local chefs Roger Tappen, Monica Kelso, Dave Munson, and Ron Macker, and restaurateur Tom Boock, have each agreed to provide a streetside booth offering some of their culinary specialties. Musicale attendees can stroll along and sample each of their menus while listening to musical perfromers along the way. Everyone will then gather for a concert presented by CVSM Faculty and Friends in the backyard of Paula Hepfer's home, CVSM Program Director.
Rain date: Sunday, June 7
Advanced reservations are required. Tickets are $45 per person and can be purchased by telephone at (717) 261-1220 (Visa/MasterCard/Discover credit cards are accepted) or you can mail your check to CVSM.
