Greetings!
We are thrilled to announce the arrival of RootShieldŽ PLUS... the next generation of RootShieldŽ Biological Fungicide. The EPA recently approved RootShield PLUS for use on greenhouse, nursery and vegetable crops. RootShield PLUS offers the same great root protection, but now prevents Phytophthora too! See article below for more information. |
Introducing...
The NEXT generation of RootShield has arrived!
RootShield PLUS,with two active ingredients (Trichoderma harzianum strain T-22, and Trichoderma virens strain G-41), provides preventative control of all major root diseases including soilborne Phytophthora. Just like RootShield, RootShield PLUS controls diseases caused by Pythium, Rhizoctonia, Fusarium, Thielaviopsis, and Cylindrocladium - with improved suppression of the aggressive hot-season Pythium aphanidermatum.
Why is this a great product for YOU?
- Dual active ingredients prevent a greater spectrum of root diseases - including Phytophthora
- Grows on roots "shielding" them against root damaging fungi for 3 months with 1 application
- Costs less than 2˘ per 6-inch pot in a root protection program
- Releases enzymes that dissolve cell walls of many fungal pathogens
- Promotes a healthier root system increasing root mass potential
- Compatible with most other inputs
- Reduces or eliminates chemical fungicide applications
- 0-hour REI* / 0-hour PHI
OMRI submission is pending, and state registrations are currently pending. Click here for daily registration updates, and for further information including labels and MSDS sheets.
*RootShield PLUS WP has a 4-hour REI when used as a dip or dust.
Here's what growers who have trialed RootShield PLUS are saying...
"We switched to RootShield PLUS+ and saw a dramatic difference"
"We have eliminated losses due to root rot."
"We've been using RootShield WP since 2003 and now it is even better!" |
Gearing up for Another Giant Pumpkin Growing Season
Many pumpkin growers are getting ready for the BIG season. Ron Wallace, 2006 World Pumpkin Growing Champion and Southern New England Pumpkin Grower, has had HUGE results for years while using RootShield on his competitively grown pumpkins.

"In the never ending fight against soil pathogens, I have successfully incorporated BioWorks' RootShield Granules and RootShield WP into my biological program. For in-season furrow application as my plants are actively growing, I use the Granules. I apply the Wettable Powder at the seedling stage and then I follow up with two more drenching application during the season. I have noticed an increased root mass with an abundance of healthy white roots with greater disease resistance! If I can grow pumpkins this big with the help of BioWorks, just imagine what they could do for your vegetables and plants!" |

Preparing For The Pests
When it comes to pest control, having a solid plan for proactive prevention is the best solution to pest problems. In the premiere issue of the new publication Produce Grower, published by GIE Media, Laura Allen interviewed BioWorks' very own Randy Martin, PhD. for the article "Preparing for the Pests". The interview provides growers with key information on how to plan prevention, and if needed control, of harmful pests.
"You've seen the signs: tiny white spots on the underside of tomato leaves, or yellow blotches on the foliage of your cucumber crop. You know you have a problem and unless proper action is taken, pests and diseases can be devastating to both your crops and your profit. But with the proper knowledge and attitude, you can overcome any pesky problems that may arise."
