Greetings!

In this October News Edition we're ready for more chemistry!

Dr. Jack Driscoll and Dr. Ira Krull of Northeastern University at the NESACS October monthly meeting at Schlumberger Doll in Cambridge. Dr. Krull was celebrated at the meeting for being a 50 year American Chemical Society member.

If you "Google" Driscoll and Krull it is amazing how many of the same books these two contributed to.

National Chemistry Week kicked off for us at our International Year of Chemistry Q3 Cape Cod Science Cafe hosted by Cape Cod Beer: Sustainability, Chemistry and the Art of Craft Beer. Check out our write-up in the Cape Cod Times here.

Jack participated in Chemistry Connections during National Chemistry Week. This is a neat program sponsored by the Northeastern Section of the American Chemical Society that conducts a workshop for local area high school chemistry teachers. Jack's  review of this event is here: Photos below are courtesy of M. Z. Hoffman.

Portable O2, H2S, NH3, CO2 Analyzer

  • The Model 113 includes the choice of one Snap-On Module plus up to 1-3 optional electrochemical sensors an an optional TCD or CG sensor, datalogging, Operator's Manual, and Rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride Battery.
Snap on Heads
Unique Snap on Heads are available only from PID. The readout unit recognizes the head type and calibration factors when the heads are interchanged.
Ease of calibration
The two point calibration for the TCD uses a zero gas and a span gas. The time to calibrate is about 40 seconds. The Cal button is located on the main menu for ease of use.
Datalogging
Manual or automatic datalogging (7,000 points) is available. The 105 has a built in real time clock. Viewer software (Windows 98-XP compatible) comes with the 113
