There is so much to tell you about this wonderful new essence we are asked to call WILDERNESS MYSTIC. The word mystic means that we are able to embody all faculties and realities, both inner and outer. Furthermore, the word mystic derives from the Latin mysterium, which means "to be altered." Universal Blessed Mother Mary reminds us that we are constantly being given opportunities to reawaken and that the wilderness is a place that accelerates the process of awakening again and again (" a gain" and "a gain.") Indeed it seems that a wilderness journey helps to amplify the processes constantly present in an awakening consciousness- the cycles of growth, change, chaos, breaking down, renewal and growth again.
I learned a lot about wilderness by being in it, but perhaps even learned more by learning of the flowers that were asking to be in the combination.
1. First, it was shown that immediately upon embarking on a wilderness retreat, the process of purification began. Because our bodies are mostly water and we as humans have the role on earth of being vessels that "behold" beauty. Purification happens on the physical level because we are reflecting all the natural beauty that is surrounding us in our natural setting. Cleansing and fine-tuning also take place on subtle levels as our bodies interact with the balance of the 5 elements and the nature spirits that continually are assisting us to heal and evolve. To help with this process of purification the flower essences of Pearly Everlasting and Wild White Mint asked to be added.
2. As we purify, our awareness improves, not only our awareness of our surroundings, but also our inner awareness and ability to self-reflect. All of our senses become more refined and the sounds, sights, textures and smells of our environment serve to "wake us up" and let go into the process of balancing the chakras and subtle channels. For example, the calls of the loon fine tune the heart chakra and the sounds of the cricket activate the root and throat chakras. The flower - Spring Beauty asked to be included in WILDERNESS MYSTIC because it is so important in assisting us to be fine tuned by our natural environment. We were also guided to make a loon essence by using a recording of the loon and intending that sound to be "programmed" into our water that becomes the vehicle to hold the imprints.
3. Solitude prevails in the wilderness experience and some of the chaos of our everyday urban life dissolves. Our ability to become more contemplative increases. The essence of Trailing Arbutus and Rhododendron bring support greater insight and revelation.
4. Getting "lost" or "getting tested" in the wilderness are common themes in all spiritual traditions. All religions have examples of prophets making pilgrimages for renewal and spiritual growth. Flower essences for surrender, balancing emotions, (Pickerel Weed, St. John's Wort) setting our compass and finding our way are included in WILDERNESS MYSTIC.
5. Pushing the edge to our limits of endurance can be part of the wilderness experience. It can be something as simple as getting wet and cold, or being bitten by insects to something as complex as having to spend the night unexpectedly at a campsite that is not nearly as comfortable as you anticipated. Flower essences for fear and extra strength and vitality were asked to be included.
6. If we get lost, then eventually we "find ourselves" again (there is that "a gain" again :) )! One of the wisest things one of my daughters ever said to me was to purposely get "lost" in a foreign city (which I easily did in Amsterdam once :)). She said that once lost, your ability to "find" out where you are brings you to a place where you are not afraid to get lost. This part of the wilderness journey helps us to reset our compasses so that we are closer to our divine voice that we are able to more easily hear in natural surroundings. Our ability to see into our future improves (Bottle Gentian's role in our essence formula!)and our insights bring greater clarity. Our wilderness journey helps us to find our divine destiny path and walk it.
7. Recommitting to our destiny path, mission and spiritual journey. As I was preparing this information in these last few days, I felt guided to take a walk and found directly on my path, a white eagle feather. I knew that this bird wanted its essence in the WILDERNESS MYSTIC essence. Of course!!! The bald eagle is as symbolic of wilderness as anything else I know of. Using a recording of the bald eagle, its call has been imprinted into the essence!!!!! I am so excited about this new process for including bird "medicine" in our essences. I also found a rare Cardinal Flower in the Adirondacks and it is included as well for invigorating our passionate nature.
8. The final step to the wilderness experience is the sublime peace and inner tranquility that infuses our being. We have purified, become more aware, received revelations, been lost and found and renewed our passion for our life journey. I found that the many flowers asking to be in WILDERNESS MYSTIC serve us by bringing greater inner peace, happiness and quiet inner still point. These flowers include Indian Pipe and Fragrant White Water Lily. The Bluebird also asked to have its essence included so we found a recording of bluebird and played it to our purified water and included it in our essence!!!!!!!!!!! We so delight in offering this amazing essence. I can truly say I know of nothing like it anywhere!!!!!
