Join the SCV Community Employee Campaign
You can help fund Henry Mayo's upcoming NICU. It's simple: Ask your employer to donate a portion of your salary through a payroll deducation. A suggested donation is one hour per pay period for one year.

Alternate forms of giving can also include a one-time cash donation. All pledges and donations are confidential and participation is totally voluntary. Your gifts are 100% tax-deductible.

No gift is too small to make a difference. If hundreds of employees throughout the Santa Clarita Valley make a one-year pledge to contribute to our NICU, the combined gifts will have a tremendous impact.

Wall Busting Kicks Off NICU Construction

Nurses Jan Berry, left, and Cathy Butler, center, join Sally McGann, director of women's services, and Krishan Vashistha, MD, pediatrician, in the

wall-busting celebration for the NICU construction.

Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital continues its legacy of caring for Santa Clarita Valley's patients with the construction of its first-ever neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

Maternity staff, hospital leadership and special guests attended a wall-busting celebration on December 14 that kicked off construction of the new NICU.

"The NICU signifies a new level of patient-centered care for Henry Mayo and the families we serve," said John Schleif, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital. "We're transforming Henry Mayo Hospital into a world-class facility with technology and services that match the exceptional, high-quality care our staff and physicians provide."

Among the highlights of the 11-bed, 4,274-square-foot NICU are the private suites with support spaces for families, state-of-the-art monitoring systems, special infant beds, and one room designed for twins. To read more, click here.

Foundation's 30 Years of Fundraising Success

The Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Health Foundation was established in 1980 with one goal in mind - to assist in the hospital's development by raising funds for hospital programs and services. Thirty years later, the Foundation has raised more than $40 million dollars.

At the Henry Mayo Foundation, we are excited about opening new doors. In 2010, our donors' generous gifts helped open doors to Henry Mayo's expanded Emergency Department and the 18-bed Wayne and Connie Spears Intensive Care Unit to care for the most critically ill and injured patients. Next year, Henry Mayo's new Kim and Steven Ullman NICU will open its doors to our tiniest and most vulnerable patients.

As we enter the New Year, take a moment to look back at what your gifts, and those of the community, helped accomplish in FY10.

Babies of all ages are being celebrated on our Baby Wall of Fame in support of Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital's new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), scheduled for completion in 2011.

Proceeds from the Baby Wall of Fame will be used to help us build our NICU and purchase vital, life-saving equipment needed to care for fragile newborns.

To participate, send or e-mail us a copy of your baby's photo, along with a charitable donation. The photos will be posted on our Baby Wall of Fame located near the NICU construction. All photos, no matter where and when the baby was born, are welcome.
