Year End Giving - Opening New Doors
At the Henry Mayo Foundation, we are excited about opening new doors. In 2010, our donors' generous gifts helped us open doors to Henry Mayo's expanded Emergency Department and the 18-bed Wayne and Connie Spears Intensive Care Unit to care for the most critically ill and injured patients. Next year, Henry Mayo's brand new Kim and Steven Ullman Neonatal Intensive Care Unit will open its doors for our tiniest - and most vulnerable - patients.
Exciting opportunities for philanthropy exist today as we race to raise the final $1 million of our $3-million NICU campaign. As this year draws to an end, take time to acknowledge what your gifts helped us accomplish over the past year and look ahead toward the many exciting opportunities to support Henry Mayo Hospital in 2011. Please contact the Foundation at 661-200-1200. Your support will open new doors for our patients in 2011.

| Free Holiday Fun at Community Tree Lighting | |
Henry Mayo will kick off the holidays with its annual Community Tree Lighting on Sunday, Dec. 5 from 2-5 p.m. at the hospital's Valencia campus.
Sponsored by Andy Gump, which decorates and provides the lighting for the massive holiday tree, the popular free event offers holiday fun, refreshments, and crafts for the whole family, including entertainment by local schools and performers, as well as photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
This year, the tree was topped with a special star by Kim and Steven Ullman of Valencia, for whom Henry Mayo's upcoming Neonatal Intensive Care Unit will be named.
The Ullman's generous gift allowed the 4,369 square-foot, 11-bed unit, slated to open in late 2011, to move forward, but additional funds are still required. "Philanthropy is a critical part of the hospital's growth, and community support is essential to meet the challenge of building a NICU that our babies deserve," says Diana Vose, president of the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Health Foundation. "The NICU will be named for Kim & Steven Ullman's generosity, but there remain many naming opportunities, from the shared room for twin NICU babies to the lactation room."
Once completed, the NICU will provide a comprehensive continuum of care for all mothers and babies who need extra care while at Henry Mayo. For more information on the Community Tree Lighting event, click here. |

| Don't Miss Holiday Home Tour! | |
It's starting to look a lot like the holidays as the 30th Annual Henry Mayo Holiday Home Tour opens its doors to three elaborately decorated Santa Clarita Valley homes on Saturday, Dec. 4.
Organized each year by the hospital's all-volunteer Holiday Home Tour League, the event offers guests the opportunity to see exquisite holiday furnishings in an intimate setting. Tickets are $30 and the tour is open to guests ages 12 and over.
"We have three really beautiful homes this year and each one is very different," said league coordinator Becki Basham. "The tour is always a fun start to the holiday season."
Wally and Dree Hawkins have created an "Eclectic Noel" throughout their 3,500 square foot Saugus home. At the Newhall estate of Keith Davis, of Dave Davis Plastering, it's an "Old World" holiday, representing the architecture of his new custom 5,500 square foot residence. In the hills of Sand Canyon, Erasmo and Nora Dominguez are offering a "Feliz Navidad - Cuban Style" holiday, complementing the 8,000 square foot hacienda-style estate, which includes a dramatic nativity scene at the entrance.
The Home Tour is preceded by the Preview Gala on Friday, Dec. 3, at Robinson Ranch Golf Club, which includes a buffet dinner and a sneak peek at the homes. The public is also welcome to attend the free Holiday Home Tour Boutique on Saturday Dec. 4, at Newhall's Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., which includes handcrafted gift and food items. For more information on the Holiday Home Tour, Preview Gala, or Holiday Home Tour Boutique, or to purchase tickets, call (661) 253-8051. |
