| Hafizi Wins Healthcare Leadership Award | |
Linda Hafizi, chair of the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Health Foundation Board of Directors and publisher of The Magazine of Santa Clarita and Elite, has been named as the recipient of the Congressman Howard P. "Buck" McKeon Healthcare Leadership Award for her significant contributions to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital.
The inaugural Healthcare Leadership Award was presented to Congressman Howard "Buck" McKeon in 2006 for his consistent and demonstrated support for quality healthcare in the Santa Clarita Valley. His advocacy for federal support for trauma services and hospital expansion has been important in the progress of healthcare in the Santa Clarita Valley, as has his leadership and guidance as a past member and chairman of the Hospital Board of Directors.
"Henry Mayo has benefited greatly as a result of Linda's involvement with the Henry Mayo Foundation Board and the promotion of philanthropic goals through her magazines," said Congressman McKeon as he prepared to present the award to Hafizi. "When you need a hospital, you want it to be there for you. We appreciate everything Linda's done to help Henry Mayo's growth. Her ability to provide that information to our community is invaluable and we thank her."
In volunteering time and resources, Linda Hafizi has served on the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Health Foundation Board of Directors for seven years. This extraordinary commitment is a testament to her ongoing generosity, talent, and dedication to the importance of healthcare philanthropy. To read more, click here. |

| 2010 Holiday Home Tour to Benefit Babies |
Good cheer and tidings of the season will abound during Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital's 30th Annual Holiday Home Tour festivities on December 3 and December 4, 2010. The "Bundles of Joy" themed events will benefit Henry Mayo's neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), scheduled to begin construction in 2011.
Enjoy the spirit of the season at this matchless holiday event in the heart of three Santa Clarita Valley neighborhoods. The tour, hosted by the hospital's Home Tour League, will offer visitors an opportunity to tour three homes decorated in unique themes of festive holiday décor on Saturday, December 4.
Tickets for the tour are $30 and are available to purchase at Henry Mayo and participating stores beginning November 1. Tickets can also be purchased on the day of the event at the holiday gift boutique at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Newhall or any of the featured homes. The tour is open to all adults and children over 12 years of age. For safety reasons, guests are requested to wear flat shoes only. In addition, holiday shoppers looking for unique gifts will be delighted with the Home Tour's indoor holiday gift boutique at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church Assembly Hall on Saturday, December 4, the day of the tour. The boutique is free of charge and open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Holiday revelers are also invited to ring in the season with the Preview Gala on Friday, December 3, for an exclusive first look at the homes on the tour from 6 to 9 pm and enjoy a festive buffet dinner at the Robinson's Ranch Golf Club, 7 to 10 pm. Festive attire is suggested. Gala tickets are available at $100 per person and can be purchased by calling (661) 253-8051 or by clicking here.
The Holiday Home Tour League has provided 30 years of holiday cheer to the Santa Clarita Valley and generated more than $700,000 for Henry Mayo. Proceeds from this year's events will benefit Henry Mayo's neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
For information about the holiday events or to purchase tickets, please contact the hospital's Volunteer Services office at (661) 253-8051 or visit www.henrymayo.com. |
