Dear Families of MCAS Yuma,

iT IND

It has been a very exciting 2nd semester with the many children's events and partnerships that have taken place between MCAS Yuma and our local Yuma schools.  Our MCAS Marine volunteers have had a strong presence within our schools, children at four local schools experienced an amazing visit from international children's entertainer Trevor Romain,  special needs children from our local schools enjoyed the annual MCAS Children's Expo, three high school bands and an elementary school choir entertained the crowd at the 49th MCAS Air Show, local high school students provided support during the CYTP children's carnival in celebration of the Month of the Military Child, and the very first "Tell Me A Story" event was hosted for MCAS children and families.

As your installation School Liaison, I have had the great pleasure to be involved in all these events and feel a great sense of pride in the strong relationships developing between our Yuma schools and MCAS Yuma.    I would like to thank our installation Commanders, Sergeant Majors, Public Affairs Office, FROs, MCCS marketing, MCCS Coordinators, SMP, CYTP, MCFTB & EFMP colleagues for always supporting and helping me coordinate these many events and volunteer opportunities in support of our children and families.

In this Spring edition of "THE ROADRUNNER" you will view a photo collage highlighting these wonderful events.  I am happy to be able to share these photos with you, and  hope you truly enjoy them.

Whether you are leaving MCAS Yuma this summer and seeking school related transition assistance , or would like to discuss any specific school issues pertaining to your children, please call me.  I will be available all summer to provide our military families K-12 support.  Give me a call at 928-269-5373, or email me at mcshaneea@usmc-mccs.org.  Schedule a visit or a telephone conference at your convenience.

Sincerely,
Elena McShane
