Greetings!
EDUCATION CENTER'S BRIEFS
T he New Year is around the corner so now is a great time to start thinking about earning a college degree. The Education Center provides three different briefs to help you get started.
College 101 Orientation Brief:
If you want to attend school while you are active duty, the Marine Corps offers a tuition assistance benefit of up to $4500 per year for active-duty service members. To qualify for this benefit, you need to attend a College 101 Orientation Brief. The brief os offered twice a week on a walk-in basis: Tuesdays at 1000-1100 and Thursdays 1400-1500 at the Education Center in room 111.
MGIB and Post-9/11 GI Bill Brief:
If tuition assistance isn't providing enough money for you to attend school or if you are thinking of getting out of the Corps soon and want to attend college but are unsure of how you are going to pay for education, then you will want to attend the MGIB and Post-9/11 GI Bill Brief. This brief will inform you of how much money each benefit will offer, how to determine which GI Bill benefit is better for you, and how to apply for your benefit. the brief is offered the 1st Tuesday of every month on a walk-in basis at 1400-1500 at the Education Center in room 108.
7 Steps to College Workshop/Brief:
This brief covers the following areas: Career Assessment, School Selection Process, Admission Requirements, Financial Aid/Scholarships, MGIB and Post-9/11 GI Bill, College Sucess Tips and more. Seating is limited to (8) so registration is required. The brief is offered at the Education Center in the computer lab room 107.
The next three brief dates are:
Dec 13 @ 1330-1600
Jan 24 @ 0900-1200
