World Book Online

WorldBook2

World Book Online offers three main reference areas on their website.  The three areas are:  World Book Online for Kids, Info Finder, and Reference Center.  Each of these areas offer you a wealth of information as  you are doing your research.

World Book Online for Kids is the first site that was developed specifically for students in elementary school.  It offers interactive activities and games, easy-to-read articles, a biography center, interactive maps, a science project area, even a teacher resource area, and more to explore.

The Info Finder is the perfect resource for students in elementary and junior high school who come to the website to do research for a project, or are looking up information to help complete homework.  Info Finder includes reference articles, research tools, timelines, an extensive dictionary, videos and animation, and more for you to investigate.

The third entity is the World Book Online Reference Center.  The reference center consists of encyclopedias, e-books, and multimedia and primary source databases which are all integrated into a single search.  This part of World Book Online is tailored to meet the needs of high school age patrons and above.

The three main reference areas that have been described above thus far are part of World Book Online.  As a library patron, you also have access to World Book Specialty Sites, World Book Digital Libraries, and World Book Classroom.

Enjoy all that World Book has to offer.  It can be accessed by going to the following website:  http://library.usmc-mccs.org.  Scroll down and click on World Book Online on the left hand side of the screen.  You will then be prompted for a username and password.  Both the username and password are remoteworld.
